Bound by Darkness Book Review

Bound by Darkness: A Paladin Novel

Description - Caught between two worlds, a powerful warrior must choose between impossible destinies when he meets a woman whose love will either make or break him. . . .

As the daughter of a Regent, Sasha has long known about the secret underworld of the Paladins and their work protecting her kind from the dark forces on the other side of the energy barrier. So when she is sent on her first solo investigation, on the path to becoming the first female Regent, she is determined to get the Seattle Paladins in line. Offering sanctuary to their Kalith enemies is simply unacceptable! But when she meets Larem, she is inexorably drawn to a dark and valiant warrior who is not at all what he appears to be. As the power struggle between Regents and Paladins rages on, someone starts making attacks on her life. Sasha must choose between loyalty to her own kind and the warrior she loves . . . with the very fate of humanity hanging in the balance.

My Thoughts - This is number 7 in the series and I haven't read the first six but I wasn't lost. I have to admit this book was a bit different for me but it's nice to get out of my comfort zone. It was very well written, very fast pace, enjoyable, and I love a sexy hero.

Description

National bestselling author Cherry Adair introduces an edgy, sexy new suspense series with this exhilarating international tale of hide and seek. A reckless adventure in a deadly paradise.

Thrill seekers Zakary and Gideon Stark travel the globe in search of extreme adventure, but a trip to Venezuela to jump off the world's highest falls catapults them into a perilous game of life or death—where they don't know the rules.

A one-night stand that will change his life forever.

Kidnapped with a woman Zak knows nothing about, the brothers are held prisoner deep in the jungle. A risky, deathdefying escape separates them and nearly claims Zak's life . . . until his recovery reveals a baffling new sixth sense.

An unexpected diversion with lethal consequences.

Now, to find his missing brother, Zak and the mysterious Acadia Gray will have to out-smart, out-gun, and out-maneuver not just the brutal kidnappers but also a new player who joins the adrenaline game: a ruthless opponent who wants the Stark brothers dead—at any cost.

My thoughts - It was action packed right from the beginning. Call me a romantic but I'm not all for the one night stand thing. See, it causes nothing but trouble and boy does it! You follow Zak and Acadia's relationship as it evolves from the one night stand into something more. It was a very very sexy book and a very quick read, surprising with all of the descriptions. I will be picking up the second book when it comes out!

Curb Your Enthusiasm is my Favorite Show!!

Curb Your Enthusiasm is my Favorite Show!!

Content by Levi Mcpherson

I can't wait till April to see what Larry David has planned for the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Each season of this HBO comedy has an arc that ties together every hysterical episode. One season Larry was preparing for a Broadway show while in another the story line had him believing he was adopted and searching for his birth parents. All of the most recent season featured the buildup to a Seinfeld reunion which Larry staged purely as a way to win back his estranged wife.

If you have never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm I definitely recommend you search it out. Larry David was one of the creators of the Seinfeld show and in this comedy he plays himself, though I would have to hope it is a highly exaggerated! version on him. His character is a disagreeable curmudgeon that must constantly deal with the everyday problems that haunt all of us but somehow send him into fits of anger or embarrassing consequences. He is surrounded by a wonderful cast of family and friends.

I love that this show is on HBO which allows me to see it often through the on demand feature on my satellite service from www.TVByDirect.com. This way I never miss it and can watch it repeatedly at my leisure.

Bossypants by Tina Fey Book Review

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.

She has seen both these dreams come true.

At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon -- from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.

Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.

(Includes Special, Never-Before-Solicited Opinions on Breastfeeding, Princesses, Photoshop, the Electoral Process, and Italian Rum Cake!)

Mandie's Thoughts - This was the most hilarious memoir I have ever read. Whether you like her or not, this is funny. REALLY funny! I've watched a little Saturday Night Live but I've never watched 30 Rock, I might now. Sarah, I mean Tina was very self depreciating at times but it gave you an honest look at who she is. She's actually pretty normal. She's a mom trying to balance her work, marriage, and child. If you have any sense of humor you NEED to pick up this book.

All in one local search engine

Don't you hate when you type in a search and it takes you to something for the nearest big city to you?  Now there is a local search engine.  It's a hybrid of several search engines such as Citysearch.com, Yelp.com, Yellowpages.com, and Superages.com! I'm all about simplicity and I'm happy to go to only one site now.

It has everything from your local yellow pages, local business contact info, the hours of the business, and even driving directions to it. It even has local restaurants and coupons to local businesses. The website even has your local weather. It's a one stop shop!

I played around with it and found local events like concerts, fundraisers, and events from local organizations and clubs that I didn't know existed along with popular local venues. You can look it up on your phone too if you are out and about or traveling to a new city and need to find directions, restaurants, and reviews!

I found out that the Band Perry (Country band) is going to be in town for a free event at the local humane society this weekend!! Wow, I never would have known!

Extreme Couponing - Yay or Nay?

I'm addicted to the show, there I said it. I love watching all of the free things they get. How they get a $1000 bill down to $6. It absolutely amazes me, especially since I could never do that being that they don't double coupons here in Florida. Not where I like any way.

I am also amazed at all of the crap they buy. Tons of sodas, chips, every processed food you could possibly imagine. Some of them look like they eat a lot of that too. Not so healthy. I do have to say that some of the couponers do say that they buy fresh produce and meat too.

I use coupons but I don't buy things just because they are cheap if I'm not going to use them. Maybe if it were something I could donate then yes but generally I won't buy it. Also if the generic is cheaper than the item with coons I'll just buy the generic. I'm not like Amanda & her 7 things she won't buy generic. I'll buy almost anything generic (except maybe Jeans, I'm so picky!)

I do have a nice stock pile and I add to it every week. We live in Florida and when I was preggo with my oldest I had her during a hurricane and lost power on and off for two weeks. I make sure we are stocked up.I can't say I wouldn't have things I didn't need if I was getting everything for free like the couponers on Extreme Couponing! What about you?

Do you watch the show? What do you think of it? Do you coupon? Do you buy it all and figure someone can use it or are you picky?

Skin MD Natural Review [ Free Sample For You Too]

Try Skin MD Free

When I received a free bottle of Skin MD Natural to review, and turned the bottle over to read the ingredients I was eager to try the lotion. Skin MD Natural contains many natural ingredients I recognized to have healing and rejuvenating properties including Aloe, Vitamin E, Arnica, Chamomile, Comfrey, and Yarrow.

According to their website, Skin MD Natural  also helps with many skin conditions including Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea, and Thyroid problems in addition to the run of the mill dry skin that I have. The reviews and before and after pictures are impressive.

Although I'm now solidly in my thirties, I've been dependent upon a daily acne moisturizer, Aveeno Clear Complexion, to help keep my skin clear. If I were to go one day without using Aveeno, my face would break out. So, while I was excited to try something new on my face that didn't contain drying agents, I was also a little nervous. Much to my surprise and delight, Skin MD Natural worked just as well as Aveeno in preventing acne, but the bonus came in the fact that it simultaneously moisturized as well, where the Aveeno would dry out my face at times.

In addition to using Skin MD Natural on my face, I've also been using it all over and it has worked really well at moisturizing my otherwise dry hands and elbows. Yay! I'm hooked. :-)

Actually, it's worked so well on my face, I'm going to be trying it with my 14 year old who also struggles with acne, but has yet to find something that works for her. I'll keep you updated!

I you'd like to get your own free sample of SkinMD Natural, you can visit their website here. Try it and let me know how it worked for you!

Disclaimer: Skin MD Natural sent me a free bottle to try in exchange for my honest opinion about their lotion. This blog will also receive a commission if you click on one of the links and decide to purchase SkinMD. If you'd like to receive your own free sample, click here.

Do you have dry skin, acne or some other skin condition? If so, what do you use?
